Attempting to build on the success of the Ser vs Estar stations I decided to hand over more control over to students for our next chapter.
The main areas of focus of this chapter were describing family members (using the verbs Ser or Estar) and ordering in a restaurant.
I spent one day presenting information that each student was ultimately held responsible.These core concepts would be reinforced by student presentations throughout the chapter.
I gave a few different options on how they could show comprehension. The methods chosen ranged from a Google Slide presentations, poster boards and videos.
The 3 main criteria I conveyed that I would be looking and they would be graded on were:
The next 2 class periods were devoted to student work/preparation while I checked in with each group of 2-3 throughout class.

- Stem-changers
- Querer = To want: E-IE stem-change
- Pedir = To order/ask for: E-I stem-change
- Venir = To say when someone is arriving: E-IE + GO verb
- Tener = To have: E-IE + GO verb
- Also used as "to be." For example: To be hungry, To be sleepy, To be thirsty.
- Indirect object pronouns used with verbs FALTAR = To lack or need and TRAER: ME, TE, LE, NOS and LES + verb
- Conjugated like Gustar.
- Ir + a = Aspect of the present progressive: I am going to, He is going to, etc.

The average formative assessment score came in at 85.04%, an increase of .74% from the baseline score of 84.3%.
